Baby California Newt, photographed in the redwoods. california newts secrete the potent neurotoxin tetrodotoxin, which is hundreds of times more toxic than cyanide. and can even be fatal to humans, but only if ingested.

I just got back from a week long trip in the redwood forest, photographing these guys. they are just amazing creatures. the Banana Slug can grow to a foot long, the second largest slug known to man.
